In this Blackberry vs. iPhone world, some of us still do not access the Internet from our phone. And for those people, the KGB offers its services.
No, it’s the not that intimidating Russian agency. It’s a texting service that will answer any question you may need to ask — from weather news, to statistics to bet-settling facts like, “Who sold more records, the Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin?” How do they do it? Specially trained KGB agents are on the other end to find the answers you’re looking for.
“The way we look at it, is marriage of cutting-edge technology plus our KGB special agents,” says CEO Bruce Stewart. KGB agents can work through an Internet portal from their own homes in their spare time, earning payment per each answer given. The training process for a KGB agent is rigorous, Stewart explains.
“Before you become an agent you have to pass the test. Then you go through rigorous training modules. Before you go live into the field, we do shadowing, which means that we’re looking over the answers that are being produced by the new agents and making sure that they are doing them in accordance with all sorts of policies.”
But how does KGB decide what to say when a user needs an answer about the ways of the heart?
“Just because people are asking for your opinion rather than a fact, it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t respond,” says Stewart. “Sometimes people are looking for that additional perspective.”
